1.Product Type: TV@nywhere A/D
2.Driver version: Newest vista drivers (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=2522&i...)
3.Operating System: Vista Home OEM 64
4.Problem Description:Does'nt work under Vista!
I have yesterday bought this card together with other parts in a computer build that I'm doing for a friend of mine. The problem is that I can't make the tv-card, MSI TV@nywhere A/D, work. First I had problems installing the drivers and the DTV program stated that there was'nt any tv-card hardware installed. After downloading new vista drivers for the card from you're website, the card was installed, as I also could confirm in control panel:system.
The DTV program complains now instead that the operating system is not supported! I have searched all over the website for a newer version of the DTV program, but without any success. I have also tried to run the DTV program in different compatiblity modes as winXP and win2000, which alows me to run DTV without complains, but makes it ussualy crash more or less directly. In some cases I was able to run DTV, and even if it won't crash, I don't seem to be able to do anything with it (like search for channels and switch modes etc.).
As the http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=623&... page very clearly states, the card is Windows Vista verified. It is also written that it supports Windows® 2000(SP4) / XP(SP2) / MCE / Vista .
So how do I make it work and in what way is it Vista certified ? I thought that it should work to be certified, but maybe i was wrong ?
I hope that you can help me with this issue as soon as possible. Computer building is a work on the side for me (about 1/week), and as you probably understand, I will not be so motivated to use MSI products any more if this issue cannot be worked out smoothl and quickly.
Sorry for my rusty english!

Your Question.
I have now contacted all the three MSI distributors in Sweden (Hattelco, Gandalf and GNT). None of them agree to take any responsiblity for the card and reffer me to the place I bought it at, allthough I have made clear for them that the place I bought it at don't want to take it back either. I have also told them that this is an instruction I got from MSI and even sent a transcript of this to them.
What should I do now ? Is'nt there any possiblity for MSI Global to take responsiblity and just pay me for the postage fees?

Our Answer
Dear Bla BLa,
If there is no MSI office near your place, please contact the MSI distributor near your place to try to ask for a help and let them help you refund or exchange. Also, it is no difference which one I contact.

Your Question.
Hi, well at least I get fast answers from you
I have been in contact with my reseller (www.komplett.se) now and they refuse to exchange or refund me for the card.
You write that I should contact a MSI distributor or MSI office, but which one should I contact first ? There don't seem to be any MSI offices here in Sweden, but there seem to be 2 distributors (GNT and Gandalf) and two more finnish ones that come up when I search for Sweden.
Is it distributors responsiblity and does'nt it make any difference which one I contact ? Can they give me a refund, or is there any MSI card that works with Vista 64 ? Or can I get a exchange for another card from them?
Thanks in advance,

Your Question.
Sometimes it seems like you dont read what i write. In my first inquire I clearly wrote that I have tried with both Win XP and Win2000 compatiblity modes, without success. Using compatiblity modes SOMETIMES the program does'nt crashes, though none of the functions in it works, so it's anyways useless.
As you cannot give me a date when support for Vista 64 will be fixed, I would like to return the card. Is it my resellers or MSI:s responsiblity ? I guess my resellers, but they did'nt do anything wrong, it's MSI:s product information that is totally false and says it's Vista compatible and certified and so on, even though it's not! 2007-4-18
Our Answer
Dear Bla Bla,
Would you please try to run the program in 'Windows XP Compatibility Mode': right-click the shortcut, go to Properties, then select the 'Compatibility' tab and you would find a 'Windows XP' option in the drop down menu. Also, we would fix and update the software to also support vista 64 but there is no way to tell you the right time about it. Please forgive if some inconvenience. At the same time, we suggest you install WinXP/2000 to use.

Your Question.
Yes, that is exactly what I did during my testing!
And that did'nt work. It does seem to fix the driver problem and appears as detected hardware in control panel,
but the problem is'nt really that!
The problem is that the software (I think it was called DTV if I remember right) does'nt seem to be compatible with vista 64. What good does the drivers do if the software using em is'nt compatible ?
So, are you going to fix and update the software to also support vista 64 ? If so when ? Or is there any third-party software that supports the @nywhere a/d and also vista 64 ? Or should I just return the card for money back ?
I could have contacted the reseller but it's not them producing the software for the card, it's MSI.
