Corsair 550D

Exactly, any news here?

I don't have a firm date yet, but probably late Feb early March I think.

I've also been looking at the 550D and it would be nice to know about when it's comming out. I'd love to wait, but no longer than middle/end of February.

The maximum is 316mm with the HDD cage in place.

We're looking at 4-5 weeks before they will be available in Europe.

There should be a windows like in the 800D..

Hoping it will never happen......

It's designed for low noise, and I think a window would undo some of the effect of having angled air vents and sound-dampening material in the panels (to keep noise low).

How much does it weigh? I think I saw something around 7.5kg somewhere, that really seems very low for something that aspire to be quiet!

Also at what speed does the fans run? Any fan controller included? Does the rear exhaust fix a 140mm fan (it looks so from the pictures)?

I saw on some pictures that there seems to be a hole in the bottom of the chassi there it's possible to have a extra fan.

Tho in the picture i did not see a dustfilter, is there a dustfilter avalible?

Can't wait until Jonas get's his hands on this one in the testlab, and if the review gets as good as I think, it's a definite buy! This one gives some serious cravings...

The weight is 7.5kg, and the dust filter for the bottom fan mount is the same as the PSU dust filter (i.e. the PSU dust filter is long enough to cover the bottom fan mount too). I don't have final confirmed fan speeds, but they are ~1100rpm.

It looks really clean and is just the right size IMO, i think this will be my future chassi for sure.

I just got a pre-production case in the office, and it's lovely. I'll be rebuilding my PC inside it very soon (purely for testing purposes, of course... )

Oh I ain't jealous.. I wonder if I can wait until end of March for this beauty.. Where did the 10th February date come from for our Swedish resellers by the way? Bah..

27 Mars is the date i think. Most stores on Prisjakt.nu have set a date at 27 mars or around that date.

I've been using one for weeks and there are no rattles. Can you link me to any posts about this?

Redbeard is actually our Product Manager for cases (and cooling and PSUs) so no-one knows more than he does

I haven't heard about any issues in Sweden (or Europe) but as Redbeard mentions it seems limited to a few in the initial batch. If anyone does get one with this panel issue we'll sort it, as Redbeard mentioned.
