RMA-issues

Hi,

I am having trouble with my ssd (Corsair Force GT 60GB)

I bought the harddrive late august 2011 from www.inet.se (swedish electornic-site)

Recently the disk started to behave strange, the computer started to freeze and the only way to make it work again was to hard reset the computer. After the freezing occured the harddrive sometimes did not show up in bios after i rebooted so i had to change the sata-port and then it showed up again. I have tried the disk on 4 different computers with different motherboards but the problem still occurs.

So i made an RMA-request to the place wherei bough the disk and they accepted the request so i sent it to the servicestation.

After a few days they responded to me and said that they could not accept the RMA becuase the warrinty void stickers were almost removed.
They told me to contact Corsair by myself.

So i made an RMA-request on your website and after a few days i got an email.

Dear Gustaf,

Thank you for contacting Corsair Customer Service.

After further review with our Tech Support, we regret to inform you that your request for replacement is denied. It has been confirmed that the issues with your SSD is not consistent with normal wear and tear.

I was expecting a more developed answear so i responded with:

Okey, and what is that supposed to mean?

If you could please develop that answear to make me understand why i would appriciate it.

He responded:

Dear Gustaf,

Thank you for contacting Corsair Customer Service.

We cannot issue a replacement for your SSD as the warranty stickers have been tampered with and is not consistent with normal use.

I am working at an IT company and have been in contact with many suppliers regarding rma affairs and have never received so brief and vague answers. I got the idea that corsair does not care for individual customers and only cares about big business. I wrote back to him again but got no response.

I have obviously fully understand that you have your rules you must follow, but to have a sticker for warrinty void protection does not feel entirely safe. For example, you see the screws and they are pristine. When I paid 1800: - for a hard drive I take for granted that I would get the help I needed iif it stoped working. This makes me never want to buy a product from corsair again.

But since i have a borken harddrive i decided to contact Corsair on this website and i explained my situtation in swedish. Today i got an answear and he told me to make a post in English and explain my situation again and that you would try to help me. Now you know my situation, i hope that you will be able to help me.

Well, since you removed the sticker, Corsair can't be sure that you haven't done anything to it.
The only way of solving this is if Corsair show some goodwill.
